ART SHOW
March 2
6-8pm

Please join us for an evening of art, music and refreshments at Endicott 1st Presbyterian Nursery School’s Forth Annual ART SHOW! The exhibit will include two floors of art work from every child at First Presbyterian. Our very best pieces of work will be displayed. You will be able to purchase your child’s artwork for a donation to our Arts and Music program. Cooperative art work and donated art work will be available to bid on during the Silent Auction hours. Please bring your family for an evening of fine art, music and refreshments.

Frames and Mats

We are in need of frames and mats for the Art Show. If you have any old frames or mats hiding in the basement or garage, please consider donating them to the Art Show.

Ice Castle

We are still planning to building our Ice Castle. With a little cooperation from the weather it can happen. So please continue to freeze ice in 1/2 gallon paper containers!

Madison Smith

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Madison Smith passed away on January 30th after a courageous battle with cancer. Please keep Maddie and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Dental Health Month

February is Dental Health Month. Regular visits to the dentist are essential to good dental care, and good dental care is essential to a person’s general health. Developing good habits at an early age helps children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. Untreated tooth decay is the #1 unmet health care need in school children. Children with serious oral health problems can have difficulty eating, sleeping, or concentrating in school. These problems can affect a child’s health, growth, confidence and achievement. There is hope. Dental disease in children can be prevented. With proper dental care, including sealants, and good dental education, a healthy dental future is possible.

Frog Room News:

Purple is the color of the month in the Frog Room. Our rainbow mural will be complete when we add purple.

I Spy will keep us looking. Clean Mud will be made in the Sensory table. The recipe is toilet paper, ivory bar soap and water. Come in and give it a try!

“Chicka, Chicka, Boom Boom”, will there be letters in our room? Letters will be climbing trees in the Frog Room.

Valentine’s Day is an exciting time in the Frog Room. We will make mailboxes and practice writing letters. Delivering mail is a favorite activity. Check your calendar for your Valentine day exchange date.

Making gnocchi’s and having a Pizza Shop will be delicious and fun. Singing and dancing to music from Italy will have the Frogs saying, “Mangia”!

We will use cooperative art time to build a classroom sculpture for the Art Show. In past years this sculpture has become an exquisite work of art and could be yours in the Silent Auction.

Safari Room News:

Nursery Rhymes will come alive in the Safari Room. Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill, and Little Miss Muffet are some of the Nursery Rhymes we listen to and act out. Rhyming is a very important pre-reading skill and fun at the same time. We like cheese just like the mouse that ran up the clock.

Numbers, numbers everywhere! The Safari Room will be full of numbers. We will match them, hide them and make number pretzels. We might even paint with our nose!

Valentine’s Day will give a chance to talk about the mail and how it works. Post Office play will be a fun way to help us understand how letters are delivered. A Valentine exchange will take place Feb. 14. *

A trip to Valley Dental will show us what happens at a Dentist Office. We will sit in the dentist chair and have our teeth counted. How many teeth do we have? We will graph our favorite toothpaste and do the Apple and Oreo Experiment.

Dinosaurs will take over in the Safari Room. Big and little, slow and fast, meat eater or plant eater, all kinds of Dinosaurs will be discovered. How big is a dinosaur? What happened to the dinosaurs? What did dinosaurs eat? All of these questions will be explored when we become Paleontologists. Look for hatching dinosaur eggs.

* Valentine Exchange
To help make our Valentine’s exchange easier we ask that you do not put names on the outside of the envelopes. Just help your child write his/her name on the inside. Please remember, No Candy.
